A Quick Glimpse of Candy Dulfer

The beautiful Candy Dulfer, first began playing the saxophone at the tender age of six. Her father, Hans Dulfer, was known as a promiment saxophonist. Born and bred in the Netherlands, she continued to play her instrument and give the world of Jazz countless of memorable songs including "Lily Was Here" and "For the Love of You". As a child, she joined a few bands including one that she founded on her own until she decided to venture into performing solo acts. It was clear from the beginning that for the now  famous Dutch saxophonist, there was nowhere to go but up.

Throughout the earlier span of her musical career, she had successfully released nine studio albums -- including "Saxuality" which garnered her a grammy nomination. Fans will consider her style of playing "smooth jazz" but this hasn't hindered Dulfer from lending her musical stylings to a multitude of performers that range from a wide variety of genres. Popular acts such as Prince and Madonna recognized her talents and have asked her to perform alongside them during some of their concerts.

Candy Dulfer is also no stranger to the world of television. First aired in 2007, she hosted her own television show that showcased her interviews of other fellow musicians. Currently, Dulfer is back into the mainstream public eye as she sits alongside a few other large industry names such as rapper Ali Bouali and  pop singer Gordon Heuckeroth as one of the judges in the television show "X Factor" in the Netherlands. The musical journey of Candy Dulfer


With nine studio albums in her name plus two live albums and a compilation album, Candy Dulfer is truly considered as one of the world’s renowned smooth jazz alto saxophonists.

Born in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Candy performed with her band throughout her home country in 1987 and even joined Madonna’s European concerts as an opening act twice.  She was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1990 with her debut album ‘Sexuality’ which was a certified gold for tremendous sales worldwide.

Dulfer’s “Lily Was Here” climbed to No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was also a big hit all over Europe dominating all the music charts. She then performed and recorded songs with Europe’s greatest musicians and artists like her father Hans Dulfer, Van Morrison, Maceo Parker and Prince Dave Stewart. She also had a memorable performance with the Alan Parsons Project in 1995 during the World Liberty Concert.

Dulfer penetrated again the Billboard chart when her ninth album ‘Candy Store’ reached the No. 2 spot in top contemporary jazz. Her song “L.A. Citylights” dominated the US Smooth Jazz National Airplay charts with consistent number 1 position for weeks.

In 2007, Dulfer had her own television show “Candy Meets…” where she interviews various personalities like Mavis Taples and Sheila E.

Dulfer has shared the stage with the world’s remarkable artists such as Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Larry Graham, Beyonce, Jimmy Cliff, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Tower of Power, Fred Wesley, and many others.

Music has been a big part of Dulfer’s life. She admitted that she learned playing instruments on her own and from the trainings and lessons she acquired when preparing for concerts. She first performed at the age of seven and became a bandleader at 14.

She performed in the festivals of many countries, Montreux Jazz Festival, Gurten Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Vienne Festival and European Festival. The success in her career continued, she had many shows and guesting in other countries. She performed with Jason Miles, a famous and great musician that has received multiple awards in Grammy. Candy Dulfer became an in demand musician. She was given a television show entitled Candy Meets, featured on primetime. Amazing Jazz Life of Candy Dulfer


Born on 19 September 1969 Candy Dulfer is a smooth jazz alto saxophonist from Netherlands. She started playing saxophone as early as at the age of six. From a toddler till now she has come a long way in becoming one of the best jazz players in the world. Known for her pretty looks, this beautiful and glamorous saxophonist is no less than some of the most popular divas in the music industry in the world. She is also the daughter of a old time saxophonist Hans Dufler who had a band named 'De Perikels' and it is with this band did Candy played her first solo on the stage.

Candy Dulfer went ahead and formed her own band called 'Funky Stuff' when she was only 14. And that is when she began her full time musical career as a professional saxophonist. She even did opening act for two of Madonna's concerts in Europe in which she gained good popularity. She worked with many popular artists as guest player for Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Prince, Rod Stewart, etc. In 1990 candy released her first ever album called 'Saxuality' which became very popular to get nominated for prestigious Grammy awards. Candy Dulfer's fame in the world of music dates back in the 1990s when she founded her own band known as Funky Stuff at a tender age of only fourteen years. Candy Dulfer Is a Successful Saxophonist


Candy Dulfer a Dutch smooth jazz alto saxophonist was born on 19th Sept 1969 in Amsterdam. She was born by a saxophonist Hans Dulfer and this shows that this passion flows in her. At a tender age of five she started playing drums but later at the age of six she was playing Soprano Saxophone whereby at the age of seven she changed to alto saxophone which lead her to a band by the name Jeugd Doet leven that means youth brings life. In 1982 she took a role as a member of Rosa King ladies Horn section at The North Sea Jazz Festival which motivated her to becoming a band leader and in 1984 she started her own band "Funky Stuff" just at the age of fourteen which was amazing. Her band did outrageous performances throughout Netherlands including Madonna's opening acts in 1987.
