Amazing Jazz Life of Candy Dulfer


Born on 19 September 1969 Candy Dulfer is a smooth jazz alto saxophonist from Netherlands. She started playing saxophone as early as at the age of six. From a toddler till now she has come a long way in becoming one of the best jazz players in the world. Known for her pretty looks, this beautiful and glamorous saxophonist is no less than some of the most popular divas in the music industry in the world. She is also the daughter of a old time saxophonist Hans Dufler who had a band named 'De Perikels' and it is with this band did Candy played her first solo on the stage.

Candy Dulfer went ahead and formed her own band called 'Funky Stuff' when she was only 14. And that is when she began her full time musical career as a professional saxophonist. She even did opening act for two of Madonna's concerts in Europe in which she gained good popularity. She worked with many popular artists as guest player for Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Prince, Rod Stewart, etc. In 1990 candy released her first ever album called 'Saxuality' which became very popular to get nominated for prestigious Grammy awards. Her album made sales of whopping half a million that made her world Jazz star.

After her mega hit of debut album, Candy went on with various other albums of her from which the album 'Candy Store' released in 2007 reached Billboard top contemporary jazz's number 2 position. Her songs 'Candy Store' and 'L.A. City Lights' reached number 1 position in the United States in smooth jazz national airplay charts. With years of experience in music industry, Candy Dulfer is today both a singer as well as a saxophonist. She is definitely one of the best musicians and a very successful super star who is a role model for many jazz aspirants.
